10 MAJOR FBI SCANDALS ON COMEY'S WATCH

The FBI endured a number of humiliations under Comey's tenure. Most damning were revelations that the FBI was generally aware of almost every terrorist who successfully struck America over the last eight years.

Here are 10 of Comey's biggest embarrassments at the FBI:

1.  Before he bombed the Boston Marathon, the FBI interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev but let him go. Russia sent the Obama Administration a second warning, but the FBI opted against investigating him again.

2.  Shortly after the NSA scandal exploded in 2013, the FBI was exposed conducting its own data mining on innocent Americans; the agency, Bloomberg reported, retains that material for decades (even if no wrongdoing is found).

3.  The FBI had possession of emails sent by Nidal Hasan saying he wanted to kill his fellow soldiers to protect the Taliban -- but didn't intervene, leading many critics to argue the tragedy that resulted in the death of 31 Americans at Fort Hood could have been prevented.

4.  During the Obama Administration, the FBI claimed that two private jets were being used primarily for counterterrorism, when in fact they were mostly being used for Eric Holder and Robert Mueller's business and personal travel.

5.  When the FBI demanded Apple create a "backdoor" that would allow law enforcement agencies to unlock the cell phones of various suspects, the company refused, sparking a battle between the feds and America's biggest tech company. What makes this incident indicative of Comey's questionable management of the agency is that a) The FBI jumped the gun, as they were indeed ultimately able to crack the San Bernardino terrorist's phone, and b) Almost every other major national security figure sided with Apple (from former CIA Director General Petraeus to former CIA Director James Woolsey to former director of the NSA, General Michael Hayden), warning that such a "crack" would inevitably wind up in the wrong hands.

6.  In 2015, the FBI conducted a controversial raid on a Texas political meeting, fingerprinting, photographing, and seizing phones from attendees (some in the group believe in restoring Texas as an independent constitutional republic).

7.  During its investigation into Hillary Clinton's mishandling of classified material, the FBI made an unusual deal in which Clinton aides were both given immunity and allowed to destroy their laptops.

8.  The father of the radical Islamist who detonated a backpack bomb in New York City in 2016 alerted the FBI to his son's radicalization. The FBI, however, cleared Ahmad Khan Rahami after a brief interview.

9.  The FBI also investigated the terrorist who killed 49 people and wounded 53 more at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Fla. Despite a more than 10-month investigation of Omar Mateen -- during which Mateen admitting lying to agents -- the FBI opted against pressing further and closed its case.

10.  CBS recently reported that when two terrorists sought to kill Americans attending the "Draw Muhammad" event in Garland, Texas, the FBI not only had an understanding an attack was coming, but actually had an undercover agent traveling with the Islamists, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi. The FBI has refused to comment on why the agent on the scene did not intervene during the attack.

Dude, something's leaking!  I can hear a sucking sound coming from the Left.  Intelligence agencies?  More like UNintelligence agencies!  Ah the many blunders in addition to Russia...
Dianne Feinstein Says NO EVIDENCE Of Trump-Russia Collusion
Intel officials scoff at hype over Trump’s reported sharing of information with Russians

Critics of the story, which has consumed official Washington, say Mr. Trump was within his rights as commander in chief to share classified intelligence as he sees fit. They also say the criticism overlooks how President Obama and his top aides shared intelligence with Russia in the fight against the Islamic State group and faced several crises of their own with damaging intelligence leaks.

“People are making way too big a deal of this,” one senior U.S. intelligence official told The Washington Times on Wednesday after reports that Mr. Trump jeopardized a critical Islamic State intelligence source — reportedly cultivated by Israel — by revealing highly classified information to Russia’s foreign minister and ambassador during a meeting in the Oval Office.

“First of all, it was the Obama administration that started the policy of intelligence-sharing with the Russians about the specific problem of ISIS in Syria, and there was no secret that such sharing was going on,” said the official, who spoke only on the condition of anonymity. “Second, the president can say whatever he wants because he’s the president — assuming he said something sensitive, that’s entirely up to his judgment.”

Some Words Of Reason

...Tucker Carlson Is Good At That

Intelligence Lapses and Double Standards.
Less than a year ago, the Obama administration was offering to share with Russia intelligence about ISIS operations in Syria . . . which sounds an awful lot like what Trump was doing.

Unfortunately for the Democrats and their rabid leftist base, Trump isn't going to be impeached anytime soon. Here are five reasons why.

1.  Trump has not committed an impeachable offense.  Matt Yglesias argues at Voxthat it is necessary to impeach Trump because Trump fired Comey after he "asked Comey to drop investigations of Michael Flynn and tell the public that Trump's ties to Russia were not under investigation." Yglesias' argument may carry some weight if it can be proven that Trump fired Comey for not dropping the Flynn investigation, but more than likely Trump fired Comey because he was tired of the Russian investigation casting him in a negative light, not because he was actually covering up wrongdoing. It could be argued that Trump's intentions were inappropriate, but it's certainly not an impeachable offense.

The Impeach Trump Now petition claims that Trump is violating the emoluments clause of the Constitution due to the conflicts of interest with his businesses; while this certainly creates an ethical quagmire for Trump, there has to be evidence that he is making policy decisions that specifically favor his businesses. The petition's website fails to establish that.

2.  The Republicans won't impeach him.  While it only takes a majority vote in the House of Representatives to impeach the president, the Republicans who control the House are very unlikely to pull the trigger on impeachment.

  • Republicans Won’t Impeach Trump For Political Reasons. There is no way that Republicans will impeach Trump, and they run the House. The reason is simple: nobody wants to get primaried for impeaching Trump, absent the clearest violation of law in American history. This makes sense — Democrats wouldn’t even vote to impeach Bill Clinton for clear-cut perjury. Partisans will never impeach members of their own party, let alone the most polarizing president in modern American history, a vindictive politician who has shown zero willingness to let personal slights slide.

  • Republicans Won’t Impeach Trump For Emotional Reasons. Trump was absolutely correct when he said that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose his core base of supporters. Trump has a passionate following, and they’d rather go down with Trump than jettison him. As a thought exercise, let’s posit the two most highly-contrasting possibilities available. Possibility #1: Republicans impeach Trump, Vice President Mike Pence replaces him, and Pence then works with Congress to pass every one of Republicans’ core priorities, up to and including Obamacare repeal, tax reform, religious liberty protections, and the rest; Republicans retain the House in 2018 based on their masterful work, and Pence is re-elected. Possibility #2: Trump remains, continues to act like Muppet Beaker in the laboratory, and Republicans lose the House in 2018, at which point Democrats impeach Trump, who goes on to lose to Elizabeth Warren or Kamala Harris in 2020. Would most Republicans favor scenario #1 or scenario #2? The answer, amazingly, is probably scenario #2. Even if most Republicans were to accept the givens here (they wouldn’t, by the way —  they’d claim, no matter the circumstance, that Trump is the only path to victory), they’d rather keep Trump around in order to “stick it to the left.” That’s true even if it meant advancing none of their core agenda elements and handing power to the Democrats. It’s more important to bathe in leftist tears, even if leftists get to take the government back and then use it as a club with which to beat conservatives. This fight is no longer about advancing policy. It’s about war with the left, even if that war ends with the Democrats and media shooting the Republican wounded.

  • Additionally, it's unlikely that that any Articles of Impeachment would make it out of the House Judiciary Committee, since that too is controlled by Republicans.

  • Unless the Democrats take the House in 2018 — which is certainly a real possibility — it is very unlikely that Trump gets impeached.

3.  Do the Democrats really want President Pence?  Trump's erratic nature and political naivete horrifies many Democrats, but thus far he has shown an unwillingness to undo the major aspects of Barack Obama's presidency and has been hyping an infrastructure spending bill. Mike Pence, on the other hand, is certainly closer to the conservative movement than Trump is and has a better chance of advancing an agenda that more effectively rolls back the Left's "progress" than Trump does. HBO's John Oliver actually got it right on this: (H/T:Vanity Fair).  As Oliver put it, “Pence is a hard-line conservative” whose record on countless issues offers little to recommend him to liberals who don’t like the policy decisions they’ve seen under Trump. “And by the way, if you’re telling yourself, ‘Well, maybe Trump’s impeachment could take Pence down as well,’ well, think about what that would mean,” Oliver continued. “Because then we’d have President Paul Ryan — three words I always knew I’d have to say, but I didn’t really expect to have to say it quite so soon.”

4.  A majority of the public isn't convinced that Trump has done anything impeachable.  A recent Harvard-Harris poll found the following:

  • 54% of American voters don't think there is any evidence of Trump-Russia collusion.

  • 52% don't think that Trump campaign officials colluded with Russia.

  • 59% don't think that former FBI director Robert Mueller's investigation will lead to Trump's impeachment.

Thus far, the public at large does not appear to believe there are real grounds for impeachment.

5.  Impeachment talk is all politics.  The Democrats know that in a hyper-partisan, tribalistic political atmosphere, talks of impeachment will electrify their base into voting for them in the upcoming midterm elections. Whether or not the Democrats will actually follow through is another matter, but unless that situation arises, talks of impeaching Trump are just that — talk.

Majority Of Americans Conclude No Russia Collusion Evidence!
A majority of American voters say there is no evidence of collusion between members of President Trump’s campaign and Russia and most are doubtful that investigations into the matter will lead to impeachment.
Those are the results of the new Harvard-Harris survey, provided exclusively to The Hill
CNN Forced to Admit Trump Was RIGHT, “Comey Committed Atrocities”

The questionable veracity of the Russian intelligence was originally reported by the Washington Post on Wednesday, but it was not known at the time that Comey was aware the information was false.

Comey briefed lawmakers on the issue during a classified hearing, but he reportedly did not let on that the intelligence was fake. The sources told CNN that Comey had not revealed his knowledge because “his big fear was that if the Russians released the information publicly, there would be no way for law enforcement and intelligence officials to discredit it without burning intelligence sources and methods.”

Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe on Thursday reportedly told members of the Senate Intelligence Committee that the FBI was aware the information was false during a confidential briefing.

FACT CHECK: Are Republicans Stonewalling The Russia Investigation?

In a speech at the California Democratic Party convention Saturday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi criticized the GOP for its handling of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. “Republicans in Congress must stop stonewalling our quest for the facts,” Pelosi said.

We evaluated her claim that the GOP is stonewalling the Russia investigation.

Extensive 'List of Obama Scandals That Didn't Get a Special Counsel'

The liberal media and desperate democrats were delighted this week over news the Department of Justice has appointed a special counsel to oversee the Russian-Trump “witch-hunt.”  The left’s hypocrisy couldn’t be more transparent.  For eight years the Obama administration and Clintons skated through scandal after scandal –many of which violated federal law- without a peep from the Attorney General or the FBI.

Here’s a 'short' list.  Obama administration scandals and crimes that required ZERO special counsels

BENGHAZI – 4 Americans killed, countless others affected.

IRS SCANDAL - The IRS intentionally targeting conservative organizations.

FAST & FURIOUS - The illegal sale of guns to drug dealers, resulting in the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

HILLARY'S EMAILS - The former Secretary of State's mishandling of classified information.

BOWE BERGDAHL - Released for five Taliban prisoners under suspicious circumstances.

IRANIAN PRISONER SWAP for $400 million cash payment.

HILLARY PAY TO PLAY during her tenure at the State Department

VETERANS ADMINISTRATION - Long wait times and poor conditions that resulted in the deaths of countless veterans.

LORETTA LYNCH and her tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton.

UNMASKING of private American citizens for political purposes.

SOLYNDRA- The funneling of funds by Obama administration to private companies.

SECRET SERVICE prostitution scandals during presidential overseas trips.

HURRICANE SANDY relief funds that never found their way to New York and New Jersey.

OBAMACARE WEBSITE that cost over $600 million and didn't work.
Just to name a few.

Professor Jonathan Turley is a nationally recognized legal scholar who has written extensively in areas ranging from constitutional law to legal theory to tort law. He has written over three dozen academic articles that have appeared in a variety of leading law journals at Cornell, Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and other schools.

After a stint at Tulane Law School, Professor Turley joined the George Washington faculty in 1990 and, in 1998, was given the prestigious Shapiro Chair for Public Interest Law, the youngest chaired professor in the school’s history. In addition to his extensive publications, Professor Turley has served as counsel in some of the most notable cases in the last two decades including the representation of whistleblowers, military personnel, judges, members of Congress, and a wide range of other clients. He is also one of the few attorneys to successfully challenge both a federal and a state law — leading to courts striking down the federal Elizabeth Morgan law as well as the state criminalization of cohabitation.  Continue reading

DOJ Says Comey Wasn’t Honest In Senate Hearing

A Couple of Questions For Comey

  • Why did Comey say he "leaked" his memo? How can you leak a private unclassified document? It's not leaking if it was a private, unclassified document, so even he saw it as a government document.

  • If his memo wasn't a government document, why was he concerned about making sure it was unclassified?

The Endless List Of Sins Committed By J. Edgar Comey

Hope Makes All The Difference

Risch - who as the third-most senior member of the committee, was among the first senators to question Comey - pushed back. The exchange is below:

Risch: "He did not direct you to let it go?"

Comey: "Not in his words, no."

Risch: "He did not order you to let it go?"

Comey: "Again those words are not in order."

Risch: "He said, 'I hope.' Like me you probably did hundreds of cases, or thousands of cases charging people with criminal offenses and of course you have knowledge of the thousands of cases out there where people have been charged.  Do you know of any case where a person has been charged for obstruction of justice, or for that matter, any other criminal offense where they said or thought they hoped for an outcome?"

Comey: "I don't know well enough to answer, and the reason I keep saying his words is, I took it as a direction - he's the President of the United States with me alone saying, 'I hope this.  I took it as what he wants me to do.  I didn't obey that, but that's how I took it."

Risch: "You may have taken that as the direction, but that's not what he said."

Comey: "Correct."

Risch: "He said 'I hope?'"

Comey: "Those are his exact words, correct."

Risch: "You don't know of anyone that's ever been charged for hoping something, is that a fair statement?"

Comey: "I don't, as I sit here."

Oops! May 11 New York Times printed James Comey's leaked memos....Trump tweeted on May 12. COMEY LIED!

Here’s the timeline as it stands:

MAY 11 —  NYT reports that two Comey “associates” leaked information about a one-on-one dinner between Trump and Comey in which Trump asked for Comey’s loyalty. The article makes no mention of a memo, but contains information about the private conversation so detailed that it would be weird if it weren’t derived from a memo written by Comey after the dinner. It makes little sense that “associates” of Comey would remember the verbiage of the conversation with such detail, and then independently leak that verbiage without any direction from Comey himself, particularly when Comey admitted that he was willing to make such leaks only a week later.  Holder Openly Pledged Loyalty To Obama, And Nobody Seemed To Care

May 12 —  Trump tweets that Comey had better hope there weren’t recordings of the dinner that would go against the quotes in the May 11 NYT article. That tweet makes a whole lot more sense now that Comey was leaking. Trump was saying to Comey: “I know you’re the leak, and I might have recordings of our actual conversation that will prove that you’re lying.”

Somewhere in between May 12-May 16 — Comey, according to Comey, wakes up in the middle of the night and feels the sudden need to leak a memo from February to the NYT.

May 16 —  NYT prints another article alleging that Trump asked Comey to leave Flynn alone. The source of this article is specifically listed as a Comey memo recorded by Comey after an Oval Office meeting in February. The memo was not given to the NYT, but rather read to the NYT by a Comey “associate”(notice the use of the word “associate” again). We now know that Comey gave the memo to his associate with the specific instructions to leak it to the NYT.

The big question here is whether Comey also instructed his “associate(s)” to leak the information for the May 11 article. If he did, then he indeed lied to congress, as it would make no sense for him to be motivated by the Trump “tapes” tweet to begin the leaks, because indeed the Trump tweet would have occurred after the initial leak.

It seems very unlikely, given the pattern of events, that Comey was not the source of the leak for the May 11th article. The use of the word “associates” and the intimate detail recorded in the article make it seem like it was reported via the same exact pattern as the May 16th article — a memo read to the NYT via an associate of Comey’s, at the direction of Comey himself.

Trump’s lawyer Mark Kasowitz seems to agree with this interpretation. In his statement today, he stated:

“Although Mr. Comey testified he only leaked the memos in response to a tweet, the public record reveals that the New York Times was quoting from these memos the day before the referenced tweet, which belies Mr. Comey’s excuse for this unauthorized disclosure of privileged information and appears entirely retaliatory.”

Representative John Conyers (D-MI), who serves as the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, is under investigation on suspicion that he had paid Cynthia Martin, his former Chief of Staff, $16,500 even after she no longer worked for the congressman.

Representative Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), was named following a complaint by the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT).

Michael Collins, who serves as the Chief of Staff for Representative John Lewis (D-GA), following another complaint by FACT during Collins' tenure as Lewis' campaign treasurer.

Andrew McCabe wife took a huge campaign donation from Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s right-hand information technology (IT) aide was arrested attempting to leave the country just a few hours it was revealed that he is the target of an FBI investigation.

  • The employees had wired $283,000 from the Congressional Federal Credit Union in a House office building to two individuals in Pakistan.

  • “On January 18, 2017 at 12:09 PM, an international wire transfer request form was submitted [at the Congressional Federal Credit Union] at the Longworth House Office Building in the District of Columbia, in the amount of $283,000.00, to two individuals in Faisalabad, Pakistan,” according to a 10-page affidavit obtained by The DCNF.

  • Imran Awan, a Pakistani-born IT aide, had access to all emails and files of dozens of members of Congress, as well as the password to the iPad that Wasserman Schultz used for Democratic National Committee business before she resigned as its head in July 2016.

  • In March, his wife Hina Alvi, who also was on the House payroll, withdrew her children from school and left the country, the affidavit says. The Capitol Police confronted her at the airport but could not stop her. “U.S. Customs and Border Protection conducted a search of Alvi’s bags immediately prior to her boarding the plane and located a total of $12,400.00 in U.S. cash inside. Alvi was permitted to board the flight to Qatar and she and her daughters have not returned to the United States,” the affidavit says. “Your affiant does not believe that Alvi has any intention to return to the United States.”

  • Soon after Imran began working for Wasserman Schultz in 2005, four of his relatives appeared on the payroll of other Democrats — many from Wasserman Schultz’s home state of Florida — at inflated salaries, but Democratic staffers said they were rarely seen at work. They collected $4 million in total.
